Up for sale is a bubbly, milky and frothy B CD 145. This one is a deep aqua colour, characteristic of Brookfield's illustriously crude last few years of production - many of the spoils from which we find up here in Canada. This colour is evidently unlisted in the guide, though is quite common I assure you. The amount of crud in this one, however, is by no means common! As you can see from the photos (sorry for the low-quality underlit images by the way - feel free to email me for full-sized better ones) this one is pretty crude. In addition to the black carbon gunk, bubbles and milkswirling all throughout the left and rear skirts as well as a large portion of the rear crown, and the straw marks all over the surface of the thing there is also a sizeable air pocket protruding into the inner skirt on the front right side which extends 2/3 of the way around the insulator into the rear skirt. Great insulator for the junk collector; not a great insulator for Brookfield's portfolio book in the day. But, hey - it's Canada - who cares? ;) The condition is generally good in this one, except for a 1 1/8" long annealing crack which runs up the skirt just behind the left mould line. As it's in the same area as all the gunk, it's very probable that it was caused by the impurities in the glass during or just after manufacture. Apart from this fracture there's a bit of the normal flaking around the inner base edge, but this is ubiquitous in "rounded", MLOB Brookfield insulators like this as the inner base edge is so sharp. I'm asking $42.00 U.S. plus shipping for this crude hunk of glass. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. All the best! |
