Here is a really different wooden cable groove type pin. Dimensional information is as follows: Overall height is 8 1/8 inches, the shank is 4 1/8 inches long and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The upper portion is 4 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The cable groove is 1 inch wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. The base of the shank has a dead center mark indicating that the piece was turned on a lathe. I have three of these pins. Provenance is that they were found scattered down a hill by an old oil pumping derrick a few miles from the town of Cut Bank, Montana.
