My grandmother (1900-1977) the late Katherine McGonigle was born in raised in Portland, Maine and always loved me and the odd stuff I collected...like insulators. She thought they were cool for a kid to adore, along with the other kinds of pole-line stuff I showed her. She was wonderfully supportive and I have endlessly great memories of her!

She probably went through these fairground gates many, many times beneath the openwire lines above. I am sure if she was here right now she could tell you every last detail of the fairgrounds and the good times she had there, having the sharpest memory and lover of talking about her earlier days. Our family's very best memory-laner for sure!
