Not sure what kind of openwire was carried upon the pole lines strung along each side of this community's downtown centre. However we see a globe street light of the pendant style that once illuminated one of this town's intersections. Also note the guy-wire insulator that electrically insulated the fixture from its span-wire (right above the fixture). High voltage circuits were often utilized for street lighting loops in their early days and insulators mounted integral and/or above them (as seen) were the rule for safety and adequate insulation. |
