Nothing is better to this native New Englander than sitting back and enjoying an old-time view of a wooden covered bridge with telephone open wire lines on each side extending into the Vermont countryside hills..

Open wire telephone circuits certainly are something all of us adore ;-)

However maintainence of them owing to storms and Mother Nature raised havoc upon a lot of them and eventually such lines were converted to overhead or underground sheathed paired cable through the decades.
