Some of these installations are grandfathered at the benefit to customers implemented many years ago and stay in place according to a retired Verizon/New England Telephone employee.

Replacement glass insulators are still in stock with plastic-cob steel pins for short crossarms; the insulators purportedly mostly are 60s Armstrong's and 70s Kerrs.
