In addition to insulators, I recently started to collect Codd bottles. [id=386950076] I found one recently that was embossed on the base "BGW" (B over G W) in a triangle, as shown above. The only other embossing is on the rear (?) skirt, which says, "EXTRA STRONG/GLASS" which is actually a fairly common embossing on other Codd bottles I have that were made by different companies, so that's no clue. I'm not a bottle specialist, though, so I don't know from bottle manufacturers. Also, most Codd bottles were manufactured in England or other foreign countries, although a few were made by American companies. When I tried to research this embossing, the only thing that came even close was a passing reference to Bushwick Glass Works as a bottle maker, which is why I'm posting my question here. Does anyone know whether Bushwick (or their successor Brookfield) ever made Codd stopper-type bottles in addition to insulators? I'm guessing this would have been at the Brooklyn location? If not, does anyone have a clue as to the BGW reference on my bottle? For all I know, it's probably the Barnstable (England) Glass Works. 8^P Any help is appreciated.
