Patchogue Sub, 69kv to 23kv

Originally supplied the 23kv line that went along the Long Island RR track to Speonk, the eastern end of PELCO's territory. North Bellport, originally Hagerman, was added to increase power on that line. When LILCO bought out PELCO in 1965, 13kv was added. Patchogue sub was originally a power plant put in the 1890s for Patchogue, hence it was on Electric St. Now replaced by an adjacent sub stepping down to 13kv in 1970 when this picture was taken (sub disconnected).
