Glass insulators were pretty much the rule for electric distribution before 1900. Here we also see an old electric distribution transformer that provided lighting service to local customers. In addition, note the white porcelain crossarm-mounted fuse cutouts/disconnects as well as the lag-screw attachment of crossarms upon this four-sided poletop.
