So one week ago I receive a call from my future son-in-law. He is a police officer on patrol in the small community of Valley Nebraska just on the western edge of Omaha. Valley is considered part of the Omaha metropolitan area of about 877,800 population. He tells me one little stretch of the Union Pacific Railroad is removing polls with insulators. He has talked to workers and has permission for me to take any I want. He offers a police escort to the exact spot. Many are already on the way to the dump. Here are some pics from my weekend of fun. Nothing rare but some decent stuff and a rare opportunity these days.
