Probably not. But this very cool looking chunk of light aqua slag glass is loaded with pieces of white firebrick much like the snowy Brookfield glass produced toward the end of their production at the Old Bridge, N.J., site. (Shown here for comparison purposes only.) See [id=379619144] for a photo in natural light. The slag glass is labeled, "Fantastic salvaged slag glass from abandoned glass factory." I purchased it from a seller at a local antiques mall, and he told me he got it (along with many more pieces of different sizes) from the guy who salvaged it from that "abandoned glass factory," which coincidentally enough was located somewhere (he didn't know exactly where) in New Jersey! I bought one piece for myself and this one to share with someone here. It's in pretty good shape (for a piece of slag). A couple of the edges are sharp enough to cut skin, and it can be displayed from any number of its facets. Anyone want it for $30 plus shipping? How about $20 plus shipping? |
