Sherill, NY c.1925, Early Transmission Line Towers.

These electricity towers are c.1900 and very historic in respect to the earliest days of electric transmission in New York and surrounding states.

A local electric lighting line with telephone openwire circuits is seen along the right with a good-looking radial-wave incandescent street light also upon it ;-)

Added note: A question was sent to me asking why there were only two towers without any others in sight in this image. I really don't know. It is possible the line made a sharp turn...so we aren't seeing another tower in the background? Or maybe this line was in the process of being dismantled when this photo was taken? It is known that used power line towers were employed for stringing radio antenna cables between them, so perhaps if these are the only two towers then maybe that was their purpose?
