1949 photograph. COEC was founded in 1940 with a quarter million Dollar grant from the Rural Electrification Administration. Most all of rural America was not actually electrified until well after WWII when the big push began.

No hydraulic operated bucket trucks here. In this era everything was done with rigging, brute strength and man power.
