In the foreground is a three-crossarm, 10-pin telephone open wire pole with tightly-strung (like guitar strings!) wires surely adding history to this photo with some cabins in the background. Wouldn't an openwire phone line like this be really nice to look at if you were camping/vacationing at this Maine backwoods location back 90 years ago? And I'll bet the sound of the wind blowing through these wires was deemed as beautiful, harmonic music to anyone's ears...to say the least. Ahhh yes, the fond memories of open wire communications lines....
