Concord is among the most historic communities here in Massachusetts and it retains a lot of its original charm. Shown is an early tavern that was right outside the town square. I believe it is still there. A gooseneck incandescent street light is seen towards the right. Most likely it was manufactured by the Wheeler Reflector Company. The founder of this company originally was from Concord. Their lighting products were well-known all around the world. They were in business from 1881 to 1974. Their main office was in Boston with manufacturing facilities in Hanson, MA (about 25 miles SE of Boston). =========================== |
