In the wilds of central Utah yesterday... a M-3156a on the original base ball sized wood pin plus another skirt .... more porcelain in my pack ... and lots of scrap copper tie wires ... hard work but fun! At first I thought these were Pittsburg products till I cleaned them up and discoverd they closely matched the Johns Manville marked specimens in shape and had the distinctive swirling in the inner skirts that New Lexington units often have . They also have the classic late speckled glaze that has been found on a few late marked New Lexington specimens... I stand corrected! |
