I met a man who used to work for a company hired by CSX to cut down the telegraph poles in the TN/KY area. He said for 3 years his job was to walk the tracks with chainsaw in hand and cut down each and every pole. What a very sad job...watching all that glass crash down and then be collected onto flatbed cars in wait. He collected hundreds of insulators over the years...he has about 80 left. From what he had, I picked what you see. The Lynchburg's on the left are fun colors. The 4 "B" 145's next to them show a disparity in height. The 126 is loaded with amber and the Whitall is a nice peace. The CREB is a nice shade of green. Picked out the Hemi 145's because I am a sucker for Hemi blue...and the Tee Pee mold is neat. He tossed in the railroad go-withs. That spike is not full size, but much smaller than it looks. Those nails have numbers on the head of them such as 33, 34, 40. The lock say L&N RR...it works great. A fun find and a nice man to listen to as he told his story.
