Just had to throw on a photo of a sweet light electric blue HG Co CD 162 bearing that wonderful patent date: May 2, 1893. Now 120 years ago. The drip point may have been of dubious practical value, but I am glad that they were placed on so many wonderful insulators! Color on my screen is a bit too deep blue for this one.
