Sometimes, insulators pop up in the most unexpected places. I recently visited the Richard Petty Museum in Randleman, NC and there, on the floor, behind Richards' championship 1970 Plymouth Superbird, lay 3 insulators. Two CD 213's and a Hemi CD 152, all in uncleaned aqua. I asked the nice museum manager, Bonnie, about their significance but she didn't know. However, she did offer to find out and asked for my e-mail address. I received a very timely response and learned that the insulators were on poles on Lee Petty's property next to the famous Petty Garage. He liked them and got them when the line was wrecked out. So, now they reside in the museum with a huge collection of Petty family and NASCAR memorabilia. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Link to museum website www.rpmuseum.com
