Being I'm really a glass insulator myself I'd say my luck was just a bit better then Larry had. These three insulators are what I found today in what most likely will be my only visit to the wild this year. They were found along a two mile stretch of tracks that lead out of my village to the south. More then likely I've handled all three or at least seen them in my past numerous hunts along that span of tracks. The insulator on the right is the remainder of an American beehive. One of two I actually stumbled across. The first not shown was just the dome and the only reason I knew it was an American was the dome letter I at the top. The one shown has just a small section of base left as you can see. That section is embossed OR CO. NY. The middle insulator has no embossing on what remains of the skirt. I'm positive it oncew was embossed Brookfield on the front and New York on the rear. It does have the number 10 embossing at the top. I wouldn't have needed to see that number to know it was a Brookfield CD 162 signal being I handled so many of them. Kept this one only because it has some awesome ambering. It sure would have been a beauty if found in mint. It is pieces like this that make the survivers worth more. Lastly or the insulator on the right is a B 145. Not long ago I was wondering if there were any of these B insulators that had only the B ghost or double embossed being I had never seen one. Maybe I seen one afterall but just didn't realize that I had. Now I can for sure say I have because I have one. The double embossed B is just to the left of the one that is supposed to be on the front skirt. |
