Here's a really great example of the ever-popular CD 140 "Jumbo" style. This is the OAKMAN M'F'G CO. BOSTON base embossed version without any skirt embossing. Nice blue aqua with a couple of bubbles. Almost a whittled type surface as well. This one is in nice condition for one of these heavily used insulators. As with all my descriptions, I tend to list ever little item - but I want to do that as I'd want it done for me. Here goes: 1/8 inch dome peck with ever so thin 3/4 inch surface crack line extending from it, 3 adjacent nicks to the upper wire ridge at one of the mold lines (these are to the left of the bubble in the photo), opposite side has two upper wire ridge pecks and a 1/8 inch ping to lower wire ridge, ping to the 'M' in OAKMAN on the base, 1/8 inch open surface bubble on base edge with small adjacent flake (left side of photo), roughness with some rusting to the inside base edge (you can see this along the base in the photo), a couple thread annealing cracks with one that goes into the inside skirt as a surface line. Again, I am being picky here. Click 'view original' to see the surface and how insignificant the wire ridge pecks and base bubble/flake are. I have additional photos showing each little defect - please ask. $350 plus postage - be aware this will not fit into a flat rate box. Money back guarantee if you don't like it. Thanks for looking. |
