What a beauty Brookfield EIN 005 hoopskirt insulator is. Sit ten expert collectors around a table and ask them what color green is this insulator and you could very well end up getting about the same number of answers. For sake of arguement I am calling it and unlisted Witch Green. Is going to please it's new owner very much I'm sure. At the top of the threads there is a generous amount of glass which a steam/junk mix crown. That mixs pours down the front of the threads. Have to treat this baby to a bright light source to see the best. There is some amber above that steam mix. The front of the inner skirt is almost completely orange amber and the same color swirls some around the Brookfield embossed area of the front skirt. Sorry you can not see those details in my pic. Was trying to capture the fizzy steam mixture. You also can't judge the color from that pic as being the exact color. As for condition it is VVNM. Has only a small jagged chip on the rear of the innerskirt that may have been caused by an exploding bubble when the hot glass was annealing. There is a flat open bubble on the same side of the insulator on the inside edge of the round base. Of course it has some of the usual inside flaking as you go around. Nothing to serious. At the there is a #2 embossed. Lastly there is minor rust staining in the wire groove in places. I'm sure that will remove easily with some effort. First email gets this gem shipped to your door for $40. Part of that amount will be donated towards Bill and Jills operating expenses or my annual donation to Icon if you prefer. I will combine shipping with other insulators I presently have available here at Icon. |
