My dad and I went to Saluda Dam today to see how much the water was flowing over it. It rained heavy the last 5 days. Looking at the dam from a boat lauch, there was the old head gates piled up on the shore and a bunch of old timber laying in the woods. I really wasn't there for anything insulator-related but I looked over and in the wood pile was a crossarm. It was one that mounted to the building under the wire outlets. Somehow it was dumped on the opposite side of the dam, away from the powerhouse and still intact. Saluda Dam 1907: [id=268330246] |
