With all the talk about the CD 505 Iranian insulator I thought I would post a picture of mine. I obtained it through a friend who who is married to an Iranian. He is of the opinion that the CD 505 were fixed to a pin with 'witches brew.' I don't know if he ever saw one of these actually attached to a metal pin. In a recent note to me he said this of the CD 505.

"I corresponded with an ex-mil. person once stationed in Iran 1960's. He had a full case of 60 of those insulators at one time. Threadless glass was fixed to peg with witches brew of burlap, sulfur, and pitch"
