This was first posted back in '06 and never got a response. I've gone through every book/website/etc I can find and have yet to ID it. "Spotted on pole on a stretch of Highway 271 between Mt. Pleasant and Paris, Texas coming home from the National show" Any thoughts??? Pat Scott has ID'ed this as a M-2670. Mike Spadafora told me it's a fairly rare LAPP post hybrid multipart made in the early '30s and was used to prevent pin/post contamination like fogbowls etc. Thanks bunches guys. What a great group of hobbyists we have.
