Finally, here's yours truly cleaning the snow off the slide covers before we were able to leave. By this time, the cowboys had been working for at least four hours, hauling hay up to the feed lot. They have to haul a lot of hay to feed 600 head of cattle, plus their horses, in the winter. I had to go back up to the ranch house to find a broom to sweep the snow off the slide covers. The trailer's rubber roof was slick as (fill in your favorite word here) with the fresh snow on it. If we'd known that 6 inches of snow was coming, I would have pulled the slides in the night before. Lesson learned! |
