Here's a panoramic. Winter can come on quickly in the mountains at 8,000 feet! There is such a deep, quiet beauty to this place! The writer of Psalm 121 knew what he was talking about: "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills..." You can see our truck and trailer parked next to the bunk house. I got up around 0500 and had breakfast with the Meyrings and their cowboys in the kitchen of the ranch house. And I'm here to tell you that they serve up a breakfast that really sticks to the ribs! Steak (of course; this is a beef ranch), eggs, lots of fried potatoes and coffee. Shortly after this was taken, we hitched up and hauled off towards Laramie, Wyoming, When we came down out of the mountains to the plains outside of Laramie, the snow changed to ice. Once at Laramie, we discovered that I-80 had been closed by an accident caused by icing. We spent about three hours in the local Walmart parking lot, with dozens of semis. When they started pulling out, that was our clue that the Interstate was open again. |
