Up for sale is one of the more dramatically amber-swirled BROOKFIELD CD 102s I have seen in the recent past. This style, the [030] embossing index, is quite commonly encountered in southern Ontario, but rarely with this much amber throughout. This one came from a small collection of insulators a lineman had from his days of picking the more colourful insulators from use throughout the 1960s and 1970s. As the photos show, but don't do justice to, the piece is a base aqua colour with heavy, thick streaks of amber throughout, as well as an assortment of good-sized bubbles and potstone inclusions. All in all, the piece is rude, crude, and exactly the sort of thing a junk-in-glass collector likes. The mould number on the dome of this one is a backwards '16'. Of course, the photos of this piece just do not do the dramatic swirling justice. The piece is in average condition for one of these sharp drip point Brookfields. Eight chipped or slightly nicked drips on the rear skirt, and another three nicked drips in the front, so the piece displays quite well. I can't see anything else wrong with it. Sold for $45.00 US shipping included. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. All the best! |
