Up for sale is an interesting unembossed CD 149 with what appears to be a piece of amber-covered metal, likely a piece of wire, that measures about 1 1/4" long inside the glass on one side. You can't see any metallic surfaces in the object, just the amber-coloured glass surrounding it, but a strong magnet (a buckyball one, for those of you that have the great things) sticks weakly to the object when it is placed inside the pinhole. Also, it's extremely straight appearance suggests that it is a piece of wire or a nail with no head. Either way, it's an interesting impurity! The surface of the insulator is also quite heavily whittled, giving it an overall crudeness that is most appealing. The condition of the piece is reasonable. The only damage is a very small impact on the front skirt, which forms a 1 1/4" fan crack, as can be seen in the photo on the right side. There is a second, smaller fracture to the right of it which extends ~ 3/4" vertically. To the left of the fan crack there is a 1/4" open bubble, with a very shallow 1/4" flake to the right of it. All in all, the condition isn't too bad, as the fan crack is not readily noticable when the piece is on display. I'm asking $30.00 U.S. plus shipping for this interesting character piece. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. All the best! |
