In 1970 I started collecting insulators. Attending all the bottle shows and insulator show I could locate. One Indiana Bottle Show i happened to be near a group of collectors and a guy pulled out a porcelain signal marked MACY, INDIANA. Macy, Indiana is one of the one stop towns in Northern Indiana with the stop on both sides. Never would I have suspected that they would have had their own insulator. I grew up a few towns to the south and my Dad ran the generating station there. He had never heard nor seen such a marked piece. So I have spent 50+ years looking for the insulator. A couple of years ago I was discussing this piece with Mike McLaughlin and he happened to have one and it was for sale. When he made it available, it was an entirely different piece looking like the top of a two-piece tramp. But it was marked MACY, IN. The piece I had been searching for was identical to the Square D signals but marked MACY. I am offering this very hard to find piece for sale. $250.00 shipped in the Continental US. PayPal or personal check.
