Shown is a watthour meter made in Japan by Osaki Denki. Denki means electric in Japanese. This is a well made meter and is designed for 240 volt, 60 Hz usage. I've never seen these used in the USA, but have seen them used in Mexico. This type of meter is used with a current transformer.
