I've searched portions of the old Richmond and Danville Railroad in abandoned sections around Toccoa for several years and have only unearthed a few decent pieces, mostly beehives, a CD 162 Star and plenty of Hemi 40's and 42's. Most of the old portions of the line are now dirt roads and some paved roads in the area. The original line was built in 1881 through Toccoa, but was upgraded in 1913 to straighten out several big curves in the area. These curves are now the abandoned line, and remnants of the old telegraph line can still be found.

Driving through one of these roads today, I stumbled upon this piece of glass while leaning out the window of my car. Thought it was a bottle at first, but knew instantly when walking up to it that it was an insulator!! BUT, what kind of insulator? See the next pic for what was unearthed!!
