These are very much few and far between, You have to know what you are looking at or you will pass them by as modern bufugwa gray driving by and looking up. The sun fades out the color from the ground to the top of a standard 37 ft tall distribution line pole but up close you will be amazed by the color of these. There is a rural distribution line from Montague to Horn brook, Ca. that has these on the neutral phase every ten poles or so. The one pictured is in Suburban Klamath Falls, Oregon. This is a U-649 Westinghouse in light swirled Robbins egg blue with a Brown RFI coating on top and in the pin hole. The latest porcelain guide does not show this color or the blue, gray and three shades of brown that these are found in. Look top left above all the blue porcelain to spot this one. |
