A section of pole line is coming down over the next couple weeks, and I will be keeping a close eye on it most days. It is not going to yield anything great, but you never know what little nuances you may find. I have scooped up quite a few sage 40s already, as well as a dozen cool looking dead end brackets. There are more, I just have to secure them from the contractor. As you can see in this pile, the glass was mostly clear, which is par for the course on this line. The clear 42s were non-MRs, which was disappointing. I could always hope. Anyway, it will be fun to hunt. Getting to the poles after being cut down is the key here. The crew removes the arms from the pole after it is cut down, then stacks them on a bobcat, and dumps them in a pile. A lot of glass breaks this way. |
