The upper crossarm supported electric lighting circuits for this beautiful seashore community. Below are two 10-pin crossarms. Those were for MaBell's telephone subscribers. These crossarms were well creosoted and many lasted for active open-wire service here in New England into the 1970s and beyond. The latter construction replaced 1890's six-pin (double-lag-bolt-to-the-pole mounted) crossarms commencing around 1910. |
