On the left is a neat-looking 16-pin telephone open wire line circuit with a rather busy crossover pole to boot! In addition, local electric distribution lines are seen along the right in this Washington State community. Here in New England pin-spacing between telephone open wire lines has historically been much more than seen here. Our severe winters along with plenty of trees to interfere with phone circuits have dictated (right from the start!) openwire with much more pin spacing than is shown here. At any rate it surely must have been a real treat to look up at those 16-pin rows of colorful (west coast-made glass) while they were in service!
