These old bells have the copper rings that hold them together. I remember as an apprentice I was working on this line and it was my job to take these appart, throw the copper in a 55 gallon drum and the insulator in the dump. We destroyed a lot of history but we sure did get to buy a lot of beer with the scrap copper.
