Amazing stories still surface concerning the subway and elevated transit system in Boston. So many great insulators and so many great stories. The CD 267 and CD 267.5 insulators that I will be offering, are part of this story. Picture the summer of 1988 on a busy street in the city on a Saturday afternoon. A portion of the elevated is scheduled for demolition within a few weeks. Two city electricians have been persuaded to "lend" their city bucket truck to three telephone employees in return for an afternoon in a local bar. The cool, calm pickers methodically work their way down the middle of the street, traffic being diverted around them. The picking was real good! Think that's something you could have done? Wrapped in 1988 newspaper gives you a good idea of how long these insulators have been packed away.

First up is a yellow/green CD 267 NEGM. I'll post two photos and describe any faults this piece has. The beauty of this insulator speaks for itself. The more light you give it the more appealing it becomes. There is a crack that begins by the N.E. and travels across the top of the skirt and drops down by JUNE 17. The crack does not reach the surface of the glass. There is another crack that goes horizontally across one ear. That shows very clearly in the 2nd photo. Then lastly there is a 1 1/2" base chip beneath the embossing PATE. It is almost entirely on the inside of the base.

This piece is not just a place holder until something better shows up. It displays extremely well and my asking price is about 1/3rd of something that is near mint. This is an opportunity to add a fantastic insulator to your collection at a reasonable price. $190 includes all shipping cost anywhere in the U.S.
