Well folks, the quality of the picture itself is nothing to be proud of (taken with a disposable camera), but I can live with that when the result of our hunt were so successful. We found many very interesting pieces, and one of the best finds were a number of Paderno insulators. They can be seen lined up along the wall. Just look at the beautiful lily-shelled ones...Italian design at its best!!! We found them in the province Umbria. To get those down, I climbed three steel poles, one of them situated in a wine-yard! Luckily the Padernos came off the pins easy thanks to that they used a thimble inside. I can tell you it was very exciting sitting on top of a 10-15 m pole, unscrew those beauties and lower them down with a rope to Guido, who lined them up on the ground. Guido took some good pics when I lowered them down, which I guess he will post here later. All in all the hunt was a true success, with many good memories... |
