Silver Springs, NY, 1920, Local Electric Distribution Pole

There is a lot of nice, early 1900s electric utility architecture here including the radial wave, street series gooseneck street light prominent in the foreground with a neat cast-iron transformer atop the pole. Typically transformers for local service like this one had either 1,100 or 2,200 primary volts (probably the latter in this instance) with 110 volts for the utility's customers. A crossarm mounted above a window on the right might have been for an electric service entry.
