Here is my latest wall hanging, 'The Angler's Showcase' featuring 24 fresh water fish of North America. Each of these measure approximately 2 or 3 inches wide by 1 or 2 inches tall. All are beautifully sculpted and hand painted. My father (now deceased) had purchased these, arriving individually over many months and had packed them away in their boxes, never to be hung on the wall..

I decided to honor my father and our memories of fishing by hanging these up! He would surely get a kick out of the fact they are now on display. Some of my best memories with my dad are our fishing days.. He would usually out-fish me and I could never acquire his gift for fishing but I think we both equally loved to fish. We mostly caught Trout, Bass or Catfish.. I'll never forget the time we were standing along the river bank when a family of skunks came up behind us.. My dad and I were trapped between the water and a family of skunks! A ma and pa skunk with babies in tow.. I was about 9 years old and a bit scared. I asked him if we should jump in (the water) but my dad quietly whispered for me to "stay still and don't move". Turned out this was the right strategy because they sniffed around a bit then slowly wandered off.. Thank God none of them sprayed.

Anyway, I think he liked the 'Largemouth Bass' sculpture the most because he had set this one out separately. The detail on some of these fish is incredible! I hope he is happy that they are finally up and proudly displayed!
