NYC, 1870s, Post Office, Telegraph Lines

Quite possibly threaded and threadless insulators led to this New York City Post Office for rapid communication back in the 1870s. Along the roof are wooden structures that very likely carried additional telegraph wires. Click onto "Previous" for a close-up of the telegraph pole that is seen on the left to this building. A taller pole also is seen in the middle of this image. No doubt it was telegraph pole. Its physical details unfortunately are quite blurred....
