The crossarm atop this pole could have been for electric lighting service. At any rate this is a great example of how line construction people built lines with whatever they had on-hand to get the job done. Albeit, skinned crooked trees for poles as well as whatever insulators and hardware that was "laying around" or conveniently available to get customer services connected in those days....
