Justin Martin inspired me to seek out and document the last of Seattles classic pre-WW2 circuits.... Poles like this are now rare in Seattle but were once a common sight in the 1970's very little remains of Seattle's old 4kv distribution system. I remember seeing numerous lines in the early 1990's that are now long gone including the line in Balard that was loaded with porcelain mice ... to bad I did not have a digital camara then! the last of this old stuff is slated to be removed in the next few years. I will be posting more photos as I have time . The use of complex haphazard crossarm arangements like this was once common place in seattle urban areas these old poles represent a real danger to lineman with there tangles of wires and armspoles like this were frequently constructed near taller apartment buildings for clearance issues.
