Original Harper's Weekly page dated January 24, 1863. Depicts "THE ARMY TELEGRAPH – SETTING UP THE WIRE DURING AN ACTION [Sketched by Mr. A.R. Waud.] Two other nice illustrations on the bottom of the page "THE ARMY TELEGRAPH – THE OPERATOR AT WORK [Sketched by Mr. A.R. Waud.] & A SIGNAL STATION AT NIGHT. – [Sketched by Mr. Theodore R. Davis]. A nice summary of Harper's Weekly can be found on Wiki here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harper's_Weekly. It's in amazing condition with the major detractor being the fold at the bottom right. When pressed under glass this disappears nicely. Piece measures 16" Tall x 11" Wide. Typical etching plate coloration around the perimeter of the page. There is some very, very slight staining throughout, more an inconsistency in the aging of the paper than staining is mentioned for accuracy. There are narratives on the front and back of the page that describe the subjects of the images. This is not a reproduction but an actual page from the publication from 1863. Lots of cross interests with this piece, telegraph history, civil war, etc. I have other pics of each image I can forward. I don't plan on framing and displaying so it seems better for this to go to someone who would like to display it. Shipping in a tube is included in the price. $60
