The dome, which has enough glass to send Brian Reicker in to paroxysms of delight, is incredibly royal purple as compared to below the wire groove. This is the Webster definition of 2 tone. The camera didn't do this one justice, so I will get a pic in direct sunlight later for a real view of the dark dome.

Maybe it just got more sun up high?
