[id=338466943] to see the the begining of this pleasent story. Told the wife we were going for a ride to look at some insulators after the Easter egg hunt and dinner at my sisters. The owner informed me earlier in the day he had left a milk crate of insulators on the table outside for me to go through. If I wanted to purchase any of them I could but a couple bucks each in a secret location he told me about. When I started sorting the top insulators out I was thinking it would be another wasted trip for me with my insulator hunting. All a saw at this point were a bunch of common Hemingray No, 9's and Patented CD 106's. Beneath them I started to see some other insulators were wrapped in old yellowing newspaper. The leaning Brookfield on the left in my pic wasn't one of those. It was super dirty and I couldn't be sure if it was green or aqua. Decided I would grap it up anyhow. Afterall, what was $2 more wasted? Turned out it was a green color with some amber in the dome and it leans quite a bit to the left and back. Soon after setting that 112 aside I reached the insulators that were wraped in the paper. Saw several Hemingray 40's and figured the ones that were hidden inside the paper would be more of the same. Boy was I wrong and much surprised when I found the GNW TEL beehive. Almost droped it. Turns out it is in near mint condition and has some really nice milk in the dome that comes down into the skirt in some places. Don't believe the orangie rootbeer Armstrong CD 217 was cuddled in paper either. |
