Middleboro, MA remains as a Public Power Community here in Massachusetts enjoying low rates and quick customer response (just like the other 39 other municipal electric utilities here in Massachusetts). Middleboro became Middleboro Gas & Electric in later years. Shown is their electric generation plant in 1905. Just FYI...they used yellow porcelain hat-type porcelain insulators as delineators for their street lighting circuits. Middleboro is about 50 minutes southeast of Boston.
