Here is one to chew on! To the best of my knowledge, this U-979 is one of just four known. This particular insulator came to me by way of a wonderful woman, Phoebe Adams. I'm sure that those of you that knew her would agree. This insulator was a key piece in many award winning displays at national shows. It took many years of arm twisting before Phoebe consented to sell it to me. This piece has the same glaze as the more common Bennington Pottery insulators, the U-980 "Horned Elliott" and the U-981 " Stove Pipe Hat". The condition of the insulator is excellent and the "salt and pepper" glaze is typical of so many of the Elliotts. If you can appreciate the rarity of this piece you will understand that the $5175.00 asking price is in line with other truly rare threadless. Also the price is in line with the few other U-979s that changed hands in the past 10 years
