CD 128 HEMINGRAY E-14 B OPALESCENT EXPERIMENAL GLASS Here is an example of experimental opal glass that came from the Muncie, Ind. dumpsite. I purchased this piece back in 1974 at the Nashville, TN flea market. Back in one of the heydays of insulator collecting there was no telling what would show up from month to month. This piece came from an Indiana dealer that traded with dealers that had "worked" the Muncie dump. The piece has damage to the wire groove on the back side. Glass looks like crumbly milkglass. Holding the insulator up to the sun and looking up the pin hole reveals the brilliant "fire" seen in jewelry quality opals. Photo by: Timothy M. Baggett |
